Houseleek – Sempervivum tectorum
This plant grows to 50 cm in width in the form of a rosette.
Leaves are green with pink-red color on the tops while the flowers are on the top of the stem and have a reddish color. It grows on sandy and moderately fertile soil, in the mountains and can be grown as a decorative plant. In traditional medicine juice of leaves is used because of its anti-inflammatory, diuretic properties, it is used for ear-pains, for wounds treatment, burns, high temperature and epistaxis. Fresh leaves of this plant are used for the treatment of burns, ulcers, hemorrhoids, and other types of inflammation.
